Just a little background in my home theater experience I was always wanted to have Home Theater so I decided to buy at low cost projector if you want to spend money on projector sky is limit. When I bought Epson 725HD, I was not confident on bulb life and value on these concerns I will definitely update my review in future. When I placed the order Amazon Customer Service messed up and support was not great but after few calls it was resolved. I will give low rating to Amazon service but will not affect Projector review.I have used Dell, Benq, Optoma and Epson Projectors.Review: It is an good value and delivers a good theater experience in my living room....Here's a brief outline of features and my impression of them:Resolution:The three biggest features most people look for when talking about projectors are resolution, contrast ratio, and lumens. The resolution of this projector is 720p 1280 x 800. This is little far from full HD, which is the majority of content I'll be viewing, but the picture is classic! I usually view the blu ray version of new movies and I stream HD all the time from different sources. In first week I always compared my HD laptop screen and Projector screen side by side when I watched Sports, Movies, Few TV seasons, Presentation and documentary. Although the picture was slightly better (Deep black, Blue shades) on the LED screen, nothing compares to watching on a big screen. The picture was very sharp and amazing.Contrast Ratio:12,000:1 contrast ratio. A high-contrast projector produces a picture with a deep black level and clearly defined shadow detail. Contrast, in essence, gives "depth" to video images. A projector with excellent contrast can make a two-dimensional image appear almost three-dimensional.Read more ›

I bought the less expensive version of this projector earlier this year (Epson V11H584220 PowerLite Home Cinema 500 Silver Edition SVGA 2600 Lumens HDMI Projector (White)). The less expensive one is very similar to this one, except the output is SVGA instead of 720p HD. I had been very happy with the SVGA projector, but I'm even happier with this one. They are both very high quality and easy to use. This projector is brighter and has a higher resolution (720p HD).This projector is fantastic for home movies or for office presentations. It's portable enough to take with you or it can be mounted upside down for permanent mounting. However, if you use this as a portable projector, you'll need a carrying bag for it. The user's manual lists this bag as the right one for this projector: ELPKS60 Soft Carrying Case, but it doesn't have any padding and isn't suitable for travel. It's a shame that they don't include a case for this much money--I'm not sure why it's not included.Setup and operation is very simple. It has a good selection of signals: HDMI, USB, S-Video, RCA, and VGA. For full 720p HD signal you should use the HDMI connection. If you are using a computer with a DVI or DisplayPort connection, you'll need an adapter like this DisplayPort adapter: DisplayPort to HDMI Male to Female Cable Adapter.Read more ›

The Epson V11H566020 is an excellent, HD projector. It projects clean, 720p video with incredible amounts of brightness for a home cinema projector. This Epson projector comes with a remote with 2 AA batteries included, power cord, quick set up guide (in 4 languages), and a CD. The CD is not in and of itself a manual. Basically, it sets you up to register and installs a link to the products manual on your desktop. When you hit the link, your browser will open to the appropriate page and a link to the PDF manual is displayed. Not ideal, but it works.Installation is straightforward. You plug the device in. On the back there are a number ports that allow you to connect a variety of devices: there is a USB-A port, VGA port, HDMI port, S-video port, RCA composite video ports, and audio ports. Pretty much any device will hook up to the back of the machine. The Epson has a built in speaker, but the sound is adequate. It is understood that you will hook up external speakers for better sound.Once turned on, I didn't have any problems with the Epson picking up the device in question. Most of the time, the Epson just picked up the device and projected it immediately. No fiddling with the controls or remote in search of my device. Whether it was my Roku through the HDMI port, my computer through the VGA port, or my video camera via composite video port, I had no problems. If I hooked up two devices, it was easy to toggle back and forth between devices whether I used the remote or the source search button. The projector was easy to position. Even if you're just about 4 feet away from the screen, you can project a 4 foot wide image. At just over 6 feet away, I was able to project a 6 foot wide image on the screen.Read more ›
