Just gorgeous, so glad we chose it, but there are some cons. It is mostly beautiful solid wood [which smells fantastic], excepting the back and portions of the drawers. The Cons: while the material is beautiful, the manufacture of the pieces to be assembled was NOT. The screws for the supports for the drawers were too short, so we had to find our own to fit. Because the screws were too short, pieces that were also glued into place, and screwed -- a sign of good craftsmanship, did not hold. They were all apart when we took things out of the box. So, we had to fix those. The back support bar was also slightly bowed, but we got it to work. It took a good bit of fiddling with it to make it work nicely, but now it is functioning properly and is a beautiful stand. Very happy, as the design goes with my Ancient Egyptian decor. I had looked all over for something that was nice, relatively inexpensive, and worked. I am so glad I happened on this Media Stand! Even with the little issues. Luckily, my hubs loves playing with wood...

As the other reviewers say, this is a handsome piece and it was surprisingly sturdy after assembly (no wobble like many self-assembled pieces). However, the color was not the honeyish color shown in the picture but deeper (description says brown mahogany...). The first round, one of the tracks for holding the drawer was damaged in shipping (and it's pre-assembled, so the screws ripped out of the wood and that whole piece needed to be replaced). The top surface had some dark streaks as if the paint roller got contaminated - it was subtle, but for the highly visible top surface, I was a bit unhappy. They were really good about replacing the bad parts, but the top surface was still not quite right and the replacement parts were a slightly different shade. At this point, I just gave up and returned it, which went pretty smoothly (aside from having to disassemble and repackage everything), so all in all I was happy with the service, just not the quality control.

As I noted from some other reviews, this involves a fair bit of assembly, but I was able to get this delivered and put together on a much shorter timeline -- and for a lot fewer dollars -- than many similar looking items.PROS: The stand looks quite good assembled (save for two things I will note below). The facing pieces are generally well finished.Mixture of mission style with an asian influence.Designed as a media cabinet so it has existing cut outs for cables in the rear.Drawers are handy, and I like the glass doors to be able to see the displays on the housed components.Size is as noted, so I was JUST able to fit it into the 48" space I had between two bookcases.Price is much better than a similar custom made unit, and available much sooner.CONS: Unpacking produced a lot of styrofoam flakes and a ton of cardboard. Unfortunately the box didn't protect the contents.Three separate parts of the unit arrived damaged, though the outer box seemed intact. Two of these parts needed to be glued and screwed together. (I made the error of facing one of the "b" sides out to the front when reassembling it, so if I point it out, you would notice the different finish to the part right under the upper surface top. My error.)One of the drawer fronts was noticeably scratched. (Covered with colored wax, less noticeable now.)Screw that hold several of the pieces together appear quite short. I substituted some slightly longer ones.Assembly itself took longer than I expected, what with all the unpacking, repairing damaged parts, and the fact that virtually no two pieces arrive connected to one another.I likely would have returned this for a replacement due to the shipping damage, but I was in a time crunch to get this in place to surprise my wife. In the end, we are both pleased with the product given it's cost.

I have had this for close to a year... it was a bit difficult to assemble but I did do it myself so it must not have been too horrible. Just took more time but nothing too overwhelming. Quality made, everything is still like new and I have two children so this is saying something. So worth the extra money and I'll never purchase a cheap department store tv stand again... My previous stand was peeling and coming apart within 6 months. Lesson learned!! This is my first time spending a little more in hopes of better quality and I am so glad I did!Identical to photograph. Color matches perfectly. No hassle shipping. Arrived early.
