Home theater cabinets ship almost completely assembled, requiring only minimal hardware installation by the user or installer. Packaging is environmentally conscious and thoroughly designed to ensure that everything arrives as expected.
Grey tinted glass doors span the front of the cabinet concealing components yet allowing remote control use.
The included fabric panel converts the front center drawer for speaker use, accommodating speakers up to 7.25" tall. The drawer can be removed to house center channel speakers up to 8.25" tall.

The beautiful Black Stained Oak cabinet is complete with all of the features that you would expect from a design bearing the Avion name. Grey tinted glass doors span the front of the cabinet to conceal and protect components while still allowing remote control use. The top center drawer's glass panel can be replaced with a fabric panel (included), enabling use with a center channel speaker. The Avion Noir Series II is an enclosed home theater cabinet with one lower and two side component compartments. The cabinet's top center drawer can be used to store media, fitted with the included fabric panel for use with a concealed speaker or removed to accommodate larger center channel speakers up to 8.25" tall.

Its a well designed product. very ergonomic in regards to wire managament and storage options. Would recommend this product. One problem with buying from amazon is that it was damaged during shipping. BIG pain in the butt to get another one.
Unbelievable Looks and FunctionalityRobert Vogel
After buying a 60" HDTV, I realized I needed a quality A/V media center that would last me several years. I spent a good 6 months doing research before I decided to purchase this one. The feature list and materials were just too incredible to pass up.ASSEMBLYIt was quite easy to put together. I believe I had it put together and upright within an hour.DESIGNThis is the most attractive piece of furniture I own. It is ultra sleek and matches my modern interior perfectly. I have high standards for product design and this hits all of them. It's worth noting that the glass on the front is very dark and covers the ENTIRE front of the unit drawers/doors, unlike the standard 8937 which has "windows" framed by wood. This isn't obvious from the photos but I actually prefer it this way.BUILD QUALITY / MATERIALSThe materials used are fantastic. The cabinet is not 100% solid hardwood, but uses hardwood veneers, which gives the balance of strength and looks with lighter weight of pressed woods.FUNCTIONALITYThis is where the cabinet absolutely shines. I am a "neat freak" and love hidden/organized cables, so I literally laughed when I realized how great this system is. The back panels slide open and give you a good several inches behind the shelving to store your power strips, etc. I set up my PS3, XBOX360, HDTV, Surround Receiver and center channel speaker and have one single power strip cable coming out of an exit on the lower side of the unit. I can simply unplug the strip and wheel the whole unit away from the wall to get behind and re-wire anything. This is OUTSTANDING.The interior is extremely generous, especially the center drawers, allowing you to store plenty of items out-of-sight.Read more ›
It Does It All And A Little More!Simon
This is the best TV stand I've ever owned. We were shopping for TV stands for our new Plasma TV for about two months, and our finalists were Salamander Oslo 236 and this BDI Avion Noir II 8937. We also considered Sonax B-007-RGT Granville for its rave reviews and cheap price, but it didn't made the cut because it needed some assembly time, and the black color were a tad off in the pictures. Salamander had an all metal frame, and it was a very good stand, but we chose BDI for its all black color and hidden wheels; surprisingly, we gained a lot more.BDI stands are very expensive, but pretty soon in the game you will understand why. The quality and finish are just amazing, and they have put some thoughts on how everything should connect and work. It is a solid TV stand, and the first thing you notice is that it requires minimum assembly. You only need to attach the legs and drawers'/cabinets' handles, and two screw drivers, Allen wrench, and a hollow wrench is included in the box in addition to all required screws.Both BDI and Salamander can handle quite a bit of weight. BDI supports up to 75" displays while Salamander Oslo 236 supports up to 65". BDI can support up to a 200lbs TV, and Salamander is capped at 150lbs. The dimensions on both are about the same: 65" wide, and about 22" x 22" height and depth. However, I think BDI has nicer looking front, because the drawer is a little wider than the side cabinets.
