Sleek Design And Intelligent Features – It’s The Center Of Entertainment
For larger systems, the Avion Series II Model 8929 provides an additional component compartment and greater width for larger TVs. The center drawer can accommodate a center channel speaker and media, or it can be removed to reveal an open shelf for larger speakers up to 8.25” tall. The side compartments feature an adjustable shelf that rests on threaded and cushioned shelf supports to minimize transmittal of vibrations. Quick-release door hinges, removable back panels and integrated cable management make for a simple setup. IR-friendly, grey tinted glass windows in the doors that allow for easy remote control access. The integrated wheels allow the entire cabinet to be rolled away from the wall and integrated levelers to compensate for uneven floors. Flow-through ventilation slots are machined into the bottom, shelves and back panels to facilitate cooling airflow, protecting components from overheating.
The Avion Series II is the ideal choice for flat panel TVs up to 75” and larger home theater systems, since it can accommodate up to 9 components. For an alternative mounting option, this model works well with BDI’s Arena Flat Panel TV Mount 9970 or 9972 (sold separately), which allows positioning the TV to stand even higher and adds swiveling for optimal viewing.

I'm compelled to review this cabinet because by purchasing it, I finally understand the value of "expensive" furniture. This was well out of my budget for the home theater project, but I decided to go for it anyhow since it's such a major furnishing in our main entertaining space. I am so pleased with the investment. This cabinet came pre-assembled (just have to screw on the feet/wheels)! The delivery was prompt and professional (in-home not curbside!) and worth every penny. This is a heavy, high quality cabinet.Sure it looks great, but the best things about this cabinet are:1. excellent door and drawer hardware! Soft close doors, non-slamming, kid-proof!2. accommodates deep AV components, i.e. my DVD changer is nearly 20" deep3. great design for cable management and optimized airflow4. removable back panels for each section - easy wiring/setup5. hidden wheels - easy to roll in and out for any cabling changes/additionsHighly recommended!

Like the previous reviewer, I'm not used to spending this kind of money for a single piece of furniture, but I have to say that I'm so glad that I did. It is high-quality through-and-through, and I'm particularly pleased with the warm, orangish glow of the Natural Cherry veneer when there is sunlight in the room. Be prepared for the fact that this beautiful cabinet grabs more attention from guests than the giant TV sitting atop it. The IR-friendly glass and the soft-close doors aren't bad, either.It is of PARAMOUNT importance that other furniture manufacturers take note of the functionality that BDI have built in to this unit; the venting slats and built-in wheels should be the standard for all such furniture.I would make only a couple of requests from BDI for future models, certainly not salient enough to warrant taking a star off from this review. First, although I would want to maintain the size of the overall unit, the height of the metal base underlying the whole thing should be cut in half, bringing the TV closer to eye height while seated. Second, I would have preferred to at least have the option of pre-installed, silent fans on the back of the unit, helping to move hot air away from the AVR, DVR & PS3. Perhaps these could be made available as a post-purchase option, including the 12V sensor cables that would allow such fans to turn on and off automatically depending on the power-on state of those other components. Those things are available from third parties, but as always, require some ingenuity in aftermarket application, as opposed to the seamless functionality that could be realized if BDI built these in to the whole thing beforehand.

I ordered this cabinet in 2011 and I absolutely love it. I have a lot of components that are easily organized and remain hidden. Also, BDI customer service is excellent. I recently moved and the movers damaged a hinge on one of the doors. I sent an email to customer service to ask if I could purchase a replacement hinge. They replied the next day and offered to send the hinge assembly at no charge. I feel like service like that is a rarity these days.
Beautiful and functionalDolores
This is gorgeous and functional. Its heavy, seems of very high quality and fits in nicely with the rest of our furniture. We wanted something that coordinated with our cherry shaker living room and dining room sets and fit our needs for storage, and this unit is it. We needed something very low profile (we have a 90"TV mounted to the wall) and it was hard to find a piece that was both low and long enough. Our TV is just a few inches longer, but it looks really nice. After searching for quite a while, we decided to purchase this, and are very pleased!

This is a great piece of furniture if you like cheap furniture. This is not real wood. This pressed particle board.The design is good, that is the only that is good.
