Heavy duty solution for built in large screenJ. Duggan
We needed this mount for a 57 inch flat screen tv to replace our 60 inch projection TV. The projection unit had been built into the family room wall, so we needed to bring the plasma screen out more than 26 inches to be in the right position. This unit was one of relatively few that could extend out that far.Unit is very well built and has very little sag or slop. Parts were packaged nicely and described well in the instructions. My Samsung was not listed in the specific installation instructions, but it was reasonably easy to work out which screws and brackets were appropriate. Because of the weight of the unit and the tvs, and because you can be cantilevering out more than 2 feet, you must install into studs. Assembly was straight forward. Because of the weight of the bracket, it would be best done by two people, but a second is only mandatory when you are hanging the screen on the mount.This unit can be adjusted in all directions, allowing you to make up for small errors in level and for the studs not being in quite the best place. There are no locking or brakes on the positioning, but in my application that was not really critical. The TV holds the position in which it is placed, but would move if bumped or pushed.Recommend highly for the larger flat screen tvs.

Straight from the box, the mount was mainly as I expected - robust. The metal and welds are heavy duty, parts seem square and move smoothly, and the paint looks good. The manual is generally ok, but will require some learn-as-you-go. Other faults: a) various Peerless and vendor sites state 1" of vert. adjustment, but the pdf data sheet indicates only 0.79"; b) general info likewise state 200-pound capacity, but a sticker on the tilt-roll assembly states 175 pounds; c) the measurements needed to determine your mounting height are not included in the data sheets or the installation manual. Review the Peerless site: there are several related model numbers and some come w/o tv-mounting brackets (-UNL(P) includes mount).

I actually bought a Sanus non-articulating mount for four times the price paid here. I was glad to return that to Best Buy! The Peerless kit has the hardware for various threads, so you will have everything you need. It was easy to install and is quite sturdy. The tilt and articulation are smooth and easy. It is also easy to unlock the two halves of the mount and lift off the TV when you need to do so. Invite a friend for lifting the TV and setting it on the mount! When I saw this deal, I purchased three of them and it was well worth the money- the price was shock to me (not sure if we are allowed to share prices, but they were less than fifty each). At double that, it is still a mount worth buying over the stuff sold at b&m stores. Good luck with your purchase.

I have purchased multiple mounts from Peerless and am satisfied with each one. The articulation is the key element that makes this mount work for our applications. All televisions were mounted in drywall using molly bolts for security. No problems at all.
