IKEA meets REAL woodS. Lee
Give you some quick details. This stand took me about 2 hours to put together from unpackaging to clean-up. I did this myself, but I do recommend a second person for some of the lifting required. As the title states, the assembly is very similar to an IKEA product except this is with real wood--not particle board. You can expect a lot more durability and stability throughout the life of this product.The color is pretty dark. It's definitely a capuccino color, but it's a little darker than the picture depicts. There are no reddish tones like some other browns. This stand is the perfect height for a bedroom TV stand. It's got the height to watch TV from a bed. The top surface is rather large and can easily support a 50" TV. The open two compartments are the perfect size for a stereo, blu-ray player or a gaming console. The separation is adjustable, so the compartment can handle tall devices. The two drawers are very sturdy and roll in and out very smoothly. The two side doors open to nice big cabinets. 2 dividers can be placed in various heights to create 3 compartments. In my bedroom, I use these compartments for underwear, socks and t-shirts. It's not designed to be a dresser, but it functions as such very adequately.So this sounds like a fantastic product, why the four stars? Well, this is a very easy to assemble and nice console/stand. The only problems I have with this stand is that it takes some muscle to get this thing constructed. The holes for the screws are just big enough to get the tip of the screws in. Driving the screws in takes quite a bit of muscle that can be exhausting over a 2 hour span. I used an electric drill when possible, but most of the time, I had to use good old wrist power.Read more ›
Don't buy this tv stand!Mimi
No assembly instructions included in the box. Required 2 phone calls to Simpli Home before instruction manual was emailed to me. Not enough locking lugs included. Could not continue assembly before going to Lowes and Home Depot to purchase additional locking lugs. Pre-drilled holes for the two doors did not match up with the hinges. Doors appear to be slightly warped. Both of them rub on the frame when closing. Furniture scratches very easily. Bottom trim on one side has already split. I do not recommend this item. I wish I had never purchased it but will keep as it would be extremely hard and costly to return.
