4 out of 5 stars Nice look. Really need 2 people to assemble.
Keith Sinders

As far as looks, I really like the looks of this tv stand. It looks really great. The assembly is a pain in the butt. First, the unit weighs about 140 pounds or more. So you really need about 2 people just to pick the box up. There's about several reasons this tv stand is a pain in the butt to assemble.1. They have you glue all of the dowels with wood glue. Most furniture assembly pieces don't have you do that. It makes it more solid, but of course if you ever want to take it apart again it is not coming apart. I'd recommend having a hammer or better yet a rubber mallet and some paper towels handy to make sure the dowels are fully in if you glue them. Some of the dowels fit tight, thus you need the hammer. Don't want the glue drying with the dowel not in far enough. I kept mine on the foam when hammering them in so as not to scratch or ding the unit.2. All of the little screws for the glass windows are a pain. You need to have the right size screw driver and even then if either is off a little it wants to strip either the screw driver or the screw depending on which was off in size. On mine the holes were kind of filled in with paint or not drilled deep enough. I recommend having a drill and small drill bit marked with tape as a depth gauge to drill the holes out some so the screws go in easy.3. There's one stage where you have to put the main body of the unit onto the base. Unless you have two people, there's really no way that you can put it together on your own the way the instruction book mentions because the ends are only held on by two dowels until you fit them on the base. And with the way the design is, you can't fit them on after everything else is on the base.Read more ›

5 out of 5 stars great quality items, price a tad high but it was certainily worth it.
Peter Moreno

love this because it is higher than most media centers. the average height of others is around 20", this one is about 33" and since my TV is hung up higher on the wall, this was perfect to go right under it. great quality item, everything is clearly labeled, there was no guess work. I did installation by myself and took me about 3 hours. one of the steps requires 2 people to lift the middle section and put onto the base, but i was able to do it by myself simply by moving the lose pieces into place then reconnect it. the hardest part was putting the glass on the doors. if you look at one of the pictures of the door open, you'll see small metal circles around the glass. those are tension pieces, which have tiny screws that go into the door. those small metal plates with the tiny screws, made it a challenge, I'd say that part alone took me a good 40 minutes since there were 30+ and I kept dropping them. a smaller philips screwdriver would have been helpful but i only had my large one. other than that, great quality and the exact measurements I was looking for in a stand.

2 out of 5 stars Nice appearance, shoddy design

There are things to like about this unit. First of all, for all its flaws, it still looks pretty nice once you get it put together. The joints aren't all as tight as they should be, but it's sturdy enough, and from across the room, it looks fine. I also really like the large top compartment above the glass doors, which will fit a good-sized center channel for a home theater system (the compartment is 8" x 27-1/2" x 14-1/2"). Very few TV stands have space for that. My bookshelf speakers also fit comfortably in the side shelves (which are adjustable, and a little over 9" wide), though obviously, that meant leaving the doors off.The problems, however, are in the construction. First of all, the pieces are mostly joined together with wooden dowels and metal cams and cam wheels (like much of the furniture at a certain big, blue, Swedish furniture store I'm not allowed to name here). But the cam system is horrendous -- four of the cams broke with very little pressure, and two others bent so much when I tightened them that they slightly cracked the veneer on the middle shelf. Most of the other cams didn't line up properly, so they're not doing their job, which is to clamp the pieces firmly together. (If you've assembled furniture from that Swedish store before, you know how those cams are supposed to work, and you'll see immediately that these ones do nothing.) The product is thus really held together by the wooden dowels and the weight of the TV on top.Secondly, the only holes for cables on the back are at the very top, which makes them visible behind most components. Really stupid.Read more ›

5 out of 5 stars Very well packed, easy assembly, looks awesome in my bedroom
Rishi Gupta

It took me quite some time to figure out a good tv stand for my bedroom. Also after reading the reviews for many other tv stands, I was quite skeptical about packing of the item, broken/scratched/missing parts, etc.But I'm very happy with what I got.1. Packing was very good. It was also handled well. Even if it wasn't handled properly, the packing was good to save the product from damage.2. All parts were also individually packed and labelled. There were extra screws, dowels, locks, etc provided. So in case you lose one, you don't have to run to the store to get one.3. Assembly instructions are well written and assembly itself is easy. Two people are required to assemble this product. I assembled it alone, and it took me some time to do it with a few tricks at one step. Do not try to assemble it alone.4. After assemble, the product looks great. Doesn't look like an assembled product. Looks quite fancy and is also very sturdy and stable. The color matches the picture.4. Ideal for bedroom - it's high and not very deep - but deep enough to accommodate all my receivers, players and game consoles.
