I bought this because Smart TV with QAM version was sold out for a while. I didn't really need either of those, but I thought the Smart TV ability might be something I want in the future.Anyway, I have no regrets choosing this one. I'll use this primarily as a large monitor for my laptop. I'm a photographer, so the quality and options in such a display are very important to me. I was able to turn sharpening off, and there are saturation and tint options so I can get very close to correct colors. I was very happy to see that, unlike almost all consumer displays, this TV did not have overly blue colors right out of the box. The picture itself is nice and clear. No dead pixels, completely uniform lighting and color.The remote is colorful and surprisingly light. It has enough buttons/options to put almost everything you could want at your fingertips.Sound is lackluster, but I never planned on using the TV speakers. I suggest you don't plan on that, either. I have it hooked up to some powered speakers - not an A/V receiver. If you plan to hook it up to an A/V receiver, use the L/R RCA Audio Out jacks. Audio Out takes the control of the sound away from the TV/remote, because it assumes you'll control that through the receiver. My powered speakers don't have their own remote, so instead I hooked them up via the headphones jack on the TV. This way, I can control the audio levels with the remote and not have to get up and turn the knob on my speakers.All in all, highly recommended! Haven't heard of oCOSMO and are anxious. Please don't be. This TV rocks. What a steal.

I decided to purchase this at $299 after the glossy black oCOSMO 40 inch set was sold out.For $300 this TV is great:Light at less than 20 pounds.Decent picture, though color has some noticeable banding at times.Bright enough, even when mounted just below florescent lights in an office.3 HDMI ports, VGA/D-Sub port, Audio In, Coax, RCA Audio out, RCA Aaudio/Video in, and 1 set component inputs.Sounds pretty low quality.(Edit to add another feature) Viewing angle is stellar. No dimming or darkening, even when right next to the unit.For a basic TV this gets the job done.

This tv is amazing for the price. I never thought I would find a 40 inch tv that was full HD for $300. Obviously, the sound isn't incredible, but you get what you pay for. I would have bought a Samsung if I could afford it. I would recommend adding a sound bar or surround sound for better sound quality. I would definitely recommend!

First off the TV came with everything, really everything, they even included a screw driver to attach the baseplate to the TV.Pros:Price!Easy to assemble.Decent hookups and ports available.Cons:Settings are limited.Speakers (but not terrible)Overall its a great value but there is obviously a quality difference in the panel used in this TV compared with my current Panasonic. Even after tuning and setup the same 1080p content looked slightly less sharp and refined on this compared to my Panasonic.

this TV is great, we mounted it on the wall and it is super lite when it is not in the stand. Great picture and awesome colors. no problems. arrived super quick and on time.

This is a fabulous tv so far, for under 300 $ It has as good of an hd picture that one could expect on a tv in this price range. I hope it last me for many yrs. ahead.<:O)

This was the best tv I was able to find in the price range/quality ratio. You can tell it's not made of high quality materials but the screen itself is what matters and with that, I'm very satisfied. It seems to produce vibrant and clear images with decent audio (though I'm adding a soundbar to it). One thing to note, as another reviewer recently mentioned - someone seems to be stealing the materials inside, including the remote, user manual, and base connector (which includes a mini screwdriver). I too opened the box to find all that stuff missing so I called oCosmo and to my delight they overnight shipped all that was missing. Kind of a hassle to have to do that but it might actually be an issue with Amazon's warehouse. Oh well, I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

If you never heard of oCosmo TV do not feel ignorant. neither did I. and there is almost nothing on the web about them either, and nobody I could look up had them listed. But oCosmo TV is a great value as the TV I got in 2 days from Amazon is as good so far as the Panasonic I got last year for twice the price. The instructions are a bit light, but are sufficient, and the web site has a lot of room to grow, shall we say. But it is very good, works fine, has lots and lots of plumbing in the back so it can be configured as required, and it was very reasonably priced.
