5 out of 5 stars Classy looking good-quality TV console
Johnny Chan

I have been searching for days for a nice TV console for my 58" Samsung plasma TV and plethora of electronics. My criteria was for something with a relatively low profile as my TV is mounted on the wall at eye level and with a color finish that matched the rest of the furniture in my family room and kitchen cabinets (dark brown/espresso color). Price was also a consideration in my purchase. I looked at various different furniture and electronics stores including Ashleys, Ikea, Best Buy, Frys, and the abundance of no-name furniture stores around my area. Alas, I found something on Amazon that caught my eye -- this Sonax West Lake WB-2609 dark espresso tv-component bench. Given it only had two reviews but both favorable, I decided to take a chance at it as I really loved how nice it looked in the photos.PackagingThe product was very well packaged in the box with plenty of styrofoam to keep every panel and the tempered glass doors well protected during shipment. I've read of other furniture purchased online that would be chipped or have banged up panels during shipment. Rest assured that the packaging on this Sonax furniture can withstand some shipping carrier abuse and the inner product will still arrive at your door scratch-free/ding-free.MaterialThe woods used in this console are a mixture of laminated high-density particle-board and MDF (medium-density fiberboard), which Sonax collective calls wood-veneer. The front-facing panel and the top surface is MDF while the sides and shelves are veneered particle board. The glass on the two doors are tempered glass and I believe the frame of the doors are solid wood. The rear panel with the 'cable-management' circular cut-outs are three heavy density thin laminated cardboard thingy.Read more ›

4 out of 5 stars Nice product with dark finish

We purchased this stand from another site and it is very nice. The color is dark espresso and the grains add a nice touch. The stand took about one and half hours to assemble but the instructions were simple and clear. We put a 60 inch LCD TV on it and it fits nicely with a few inches to spare on both sides. The overall quality of the stand is very good.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect and well made.

For the price you pay this product is well made. All the visible parts are solid wood and look great. The shelving and such are particle board so take care when tightening screws etc...Overall I'm very satisfied.

5 out of 5 stars Really nice looking piece

I am really, really happy with this purchase. I just bought a new 65" Sony LED TV and needed a nice stand to compliment it and I am really happy with how it this credenza looks. It came nicely packed, not a single scratch on anything, with everything you need to put it together (they even provided wood glue which I recommend using) expect for a screwdriver. I am a really handy guy but if you take your time, anyone could put this together. A 65" led TV will fit nicely but I wouldn't go bigger than if you don't want the TV to hang over the sides of the stand. At 65"s I have about 1" on ether side. All in all, this stand seems really well built once put together. It's sturdy, looks like it was much more expensive than it was, and holds all my components nicely. My receiver is just over 17"s wide and it fits really nicely in the middle bottom shelf. You could put a receiver in either the left or right enclosed cabinets as well but I prefer to let me receiver breathe more and like the look of it in the middle. The only problem you might have with a receiver in the see cabinets would be getting it installed in the front with the doors on. It will be tight if not impossible as most receivers are 17"s wide. If this is a must for you, you could install the doors after you have everything setup, or not install the back panel on that side (the back is made of three separate pieces so you have a choice as to which ones you want to use) and slide it in from the rear.MUST READ - INSTALLATION TIP: Many thanks to another reviewer for mentioning this, as I could have made a big mistake during install if I was not looking for this important point.Read more ›

5 out of 5 stars Best Entertainment Stand!!!

This stand has it all. Great color, great height, length, we have our 60" tv on it and it could even fit bigger if we wanted. Great all around product. Sturdy too.

It was delivered earlier then expected. Package was protective enough. TV stand was easy to assamble but requires time and patience. Color is same as pictured. But covers for screws are very weak and easy to break.

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful, inexpensive TV stand

I don't mind spending a lot on furniture that is made to last and that takes daily abuse. I cannot justify buying a TV stand that is more than, say $500. It simply holds a bunch of electronics statically and doesn't wear and tear like a couch, dining table, or mattress. I searched everywhere for an attractive stand that fits all of my electronics, and I was pleasantly surprised to find one on Amazon. It's long and narrow with a dark wooden aesthetically pleasing exterior. The glass doors help protect receivers, gaming systems, and other electronics and keeps dust from accumulating.I've had the stand for a little over a year. It houses my 46 in. LCD on top, center speaker in the top middle, PC in the bottom middle, receiver and PS3 on the right side. The setup took about 45 minutes, and was simple, like putting together IKEA furniture. It is made up of veneered particle board and locking screws. It houses all my stuff pretty tightly. My receiver and PC (Integra DTR-30.3) have about 0.5" clearance on their right and left sides. Thankfully the vertical height on all the shelves leaves a bit of room for ventilation. My receiver runs really hot so I actually pulled out the adjustable shelf, drilled holes throughout it. I then installed 2 PC fans on the backside of the TV stand to help draw in fresh air underneath the receiver and then exhaust it out the back again at the top of the receiver. My B&W HTM62 center speaker fits perfectly into the top center shelf. Make sure all your components fit, check the chart! I wanted a bigger center speaker but space is limited. The stand looks great with a 46" TV on top, I probably wouldn't go bigger than a 60" screen. The stand comes with discretionary cardboard/Masonite back panels with circular holes for cable routing.Read more ›
