I ordered this Item once through Kmart and another through Sears and I would not suggest buying anything from Homestyles. Made outside of the USA it is pure junk. Both times when we opened the boxes to assemble was the wood busted, parts missing and etc. Parts falling off it was just pathetic and dealing with the company itself has been a 5 month venture and yet have we been able to get just 1 good 1!

After touring nearly every local furniture store, and scouring the internet marketplace... I landed on this contemporary entertainment center.POSITIVES: The dimensions are PERFECT for storing stereo/audio equipment side-by-side (LOTS of real-estate), and neatly stow a center channel speaker just underneath the table-top (mine is 8.5" high, which I fit inside the compartment during assembly). The style & finish are really great. We've gotten lots of complements. Storage is GREAT with the two side cabinetsNEGATIVES: The assembly was complicated and time consuming. Several pieces did not fit-up properly, and required filling & re-drilling of holes for hardware installation. If you don't have a lot of patience & moderate mechanical skills, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE! Once assembled, I attempted to move the entertainment center by lifting up on the table-top... to have it rip apart. Several of the cheap CAM-LOCKS completely failed simply under the weight of the furniture itself! At this point, I was ready to return the item, but instead spent an additional $50 @ home depot on brackets, braces, & screws to beef it up. After blowing ~ 15 hours putting this all together, the unit is nice & sturdy (as it should have been in the first place).BEWARE - although the fit, finish, and style of this unit is great... It has SERIOUS quality and construction issues!

I did a lot of research on TV stands to support a brand new 42" TV I purchased before coming across this credenza. There were a lot that I liked before this one, but were way over priced, and others that were reasonably priced were ugly or cheap looking. This one looked perfect for the price and the style, but I almost didn't take the chance on it because of the reviews I read about how hard it was to put together with the equipment they provide. I decided to give it a go anyways, because the style and the height of it was exactly what I was looking for. Maybe they changed a few things after the other reviewers comments because I had no trouble at all putting this together. All the pieces were there and everything lined up just fine. I have built a few other things before like entertainment centers, desks, bookcases, etc. and this piece was on par with most others. I put this together myself with a little patience and common sense and had no complaints. It is a large piece and it does take a little time to get through, but in the end it is absolutely worth it. The credenza is solid and sturdy, has a great style and height which I love, and looks great with my new TV. I would recommend this piece to anyone and the price is wonderful.

I was somewhat skeptic when I ordered this due to some reviews that I read. However, it is a great piece and exactly what I was looking for. Assembly was easy and I did it by mself with just a screwdriver. My only complaint is that I broke 3 wood screws off in the holes in when tightening down the magnets. I will have to figure something out there. Also, the left door does not stay shut easily, but it is working itself out. In case you are wondering, it will hold a 110lb TV. I could not find this spec anywhere so I called. I am giving it 5 stars because I needed something that would hold a large center channel, in black, that looked good. This is it.

I found this on Amazon for about $160 cheaper than other websites or stores. That, along with the Prime shipping, made the choice to buy from Amazon a no-brainer.Putting this thing together took probably almost 2 distracted hours by myself. There are a couple parts that are a little awkward by yourself. One thing I noticed is that the Styrofoam looked like it exploded in the packaging so when I was unwrapping all the pieces, Styrofoam went EVERYWHERE! It was an absolute mess. Luckily this has not much to do with the credenza when it's fully assembled and placed where it will be for a very long time.When it's put together, it looks very sharp. One thing I was surprised by was how deep it was. The height is perfect for my mounted TV (also bought from Amazon) that sits about 10 inches above the credenza. The construction is sturdy and everything falls into place perfectly. You get more than enough extra pieces in case you're clumsy and lose a few. Overall, it just looks gorgeous and properly matched the Bedford nightstands that I bought a couple months ago.Just an FYI, this thing comes in two big boxes. One with the longer pieces and one with the more square pieces. It also comes with another box inside on of those boxes with the two pieces that contain glass. They are packed very securely and arrived undamaged. On the outside of each box is a sticker that shows the phone number for customer service AND the email address for customer service in case any parts need replacing whether they're damaged, missing, etc. I appreciated the email address as I've personally been getting further and further away from calling and waiting through automated voice systems. I much favor the chat and email system, but mostly chat.Would I buy this again? Yes. Would I buy this again from Amazon? Absolutely. Would I recommend this to my closest friends and family members? No doubt. That's about the highest recommendation I can give something.
