The Novia 8428 is a great cabinet for smaller spaces or anywhere the TV needs to be a little higher. The top door flips down to reveal a compartment for use with a center channel speaker, media or additional components. The lower doors hide two component compartments and a dedicated home for a gaming station. The component compartments feature adjustable shelves that rest on threaded and cushioned shelf supports to minimize the transmission of vibrations. Flow-through ventilation slots are machined into the bottom panels, shelves and back panels to facilitate cooling airflow and protect components from overheating. Quick-release door hinges, removable back panels and integrated cable management make for a simple setup. IR-friendly, grey tinted glass windows in the doors allow for easy remote control access. Hidden wheels allow the entire cabinet to be rolled away from the wall and integrated levelers compensate for uneven floors.

Beautiful Entertainment CenterMD Terp
I was nervous purchasing an item this expensive without seeing it in person. I have seen similar BDI pieces at the big box stores, but not this exact piece or finish (Cocoa Cherry). When it arrived I was impressed with the packaging and it arrived in perfect condition.This piece of furniture is a thing of beauty. It really finished off the family room with a new 52-inch LCD mounted on the wall. The piece is well made and is shipped practically 100-percent assembled. You only need to insert the rear ventilation panels, interior shelves, and smoked glass top.The interior offers ample room for a number of components with the good wire management. The speaker cabinet is ideal for concealing speakers and storing DVDs/CDs. I have the 2 speakers from the Bose 3-2-1 unit in this section for a clean look.Beware that the piece is very heavy and will likely need two persons to move it once it is inside your home. This piece is expensive, but it looks much much nicer than the cheaper pressboard imitations.
Nice, but Still MDFSBR
I inspected a unit on display at Best Buy - discounted to $1200. This is a nice, solid piece but it is NOT solid hardwood. It is MDF. For the money, you can get a quality, solid hardwood piece of furniture. I had to give it stars and did not want to downgrade - but it is not clear from the description.

This is a terrific product. It is intelligently designed to serve its function as a TV console. It is also beautiful to look at. My only reservation is that it was shipped by a freight company that was not prepared to move the crate upstairs--a fact that I was informed of only after they had brought it up to my stoop. I had to bribe the driver for his assistance with the stairs, and I had to help with the lifting. I pulled a muscle in my back as a result! If you have stairs you might want to make special delivery arrangements in advance.
